Making a formal information request
Under Section 18 of theInformation Act 2002, individuals and organisations can lodge a formal application to access information held by the Council. Applications must:
Be submitted in writing
Include the applicant’s name
Provide sufficient detail to identify the requested information (scope)
Include a postal or email address for correspondence
Be accompanied by valid identification
A fee may apply for non-personal information requests. Requests for personal information do not incur a fee.
Individuals can also request access to their personal information for the purpose of correcting records.
