Understanding the Procurement Process
Procurement is the process of buying goods, services and works. This can include a range of things from roads, footpaths, recreational and community facilities, trees to heavy vehicles, office equipment, professional services and more.
Groote Archipelago Regional Council (GARC) applies innovative procurement principles to its procurement activities. The procurement principles are set out in GARC’s Procurement Policy.
Current Open Tenders and Public Quotations
GARC’s Tender.Net Portal provides details of current tenders and public quotations, lodgement details and notifications.
Tenders and quotations must be lodged electronically through the
Tender.Net Portal and must be received prior to the prescribed closing time.
Any tender enquiries should be directed to the Procurement Team.
Procurement Reporting
GARC provides details of the following in accordance with its requirements under the Local Government (General) Regulations:
Contract Variations
- where a tender was not required, however the total cost exceeds $100,000 or
- where a contract requiring a tender is varied by 10%.
Exempt Procurement
- exempt procurement greater than $100,000
Awarded Contracts
- contracts awarded following a public tender or quotation proc
